My goal with songwriting is to refine your lyrics and melodies by studying songs that you like and figuring out how to bring your authentic voice to the front!

- Teaching since:
I'm a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who has over 3 million streams on both my original music and cover material. I was a semi-finalist on American Idol season 12, have opened for Grammy-nominated acts like Train and Lindsey Stirling, headlined concerts for over 3 thousand people, performed for Barack Obama, and graduated from the University of Chicago where I took classes in Jazz Theory. I look forward to working with students in finding their voice and gaining the confidence to write better songs and sing like the stars they are! My versatility, experience and training helps me to make the learning experience fun, productive and rewarding.
Currently, I am an active performer and write every day with various songwriters (over 200 songs written). I spent much of the past 5 years performing, writing, developing my voice, studying different genres, and recording. My songs have been released on Armada Music and placed in independent films. As a songwriter fundamentals coach, I work with students on refining melodies by combining multiple genres and refining lyrics by evaluating each line.
Last year, I released my debut EP and also signed a publishing deal with Bellringer Music. This year, I am crafting my original material that will be released soon.
I teach my clients in my creative and comfortable home in Los Feliz. I work with singers and songwriters in a variety of genres and always enforce an initial period of learning technique through Italian arias, and then transitioning into whatever styles students are eager to learn for auditions, shows, etc.
Some of the musical styles I teach: Pop, Rock, Indie Rock, Soul, Country and R&B

Shubha was an excellent instructor. She is clearly well trained, and breaks everything down for any and all levels. She also makes every lesson fun with her sense of humor! Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone.
Shubha is one of the best vocal coaches I’ve ever had. She’s kind and patient and she knows how to get results. Before taking lessons with her, I was auditioning for shows using songs that weren’t the right fit for my voice. She helped me master my audition and I got the role! I’m going to continue lessons with her and I highly recommend her!Show More
I have been doing online vocal lessons with Shubha for a short time, and it was an amazing choice!! I love to sing, but I've never been super confident in it. She helps me learn vocal warm ups that have really allowed me to expand my range and feel like I have the confidence to actually perform live. The practice has been invaluable to me and really inspiring. She's given me that nudge to say yes to singing and feel like I can accept more gigs and feel ready to perform.Show More
In my ten years of taking singing lessons, Shubha is the best vocalist I’ve ever had the chance to be around, and it’s not even close. Recently I felt that my vocal ability was hitting a wall—but after only a few lessons with Shubha, I feel like I’ve improved so much already. These past few sessions we’ve been developing a more effective vocal warmup exercise, improving my tone and working on runs. I cannot stress how refreshing it has been having such a strong vocalist who is also patient in guiding me. Without question, I will be seeing her for the foreseeable future.Show More
Shubha is a fantastic singer who is passionate about helping her students find their voice. She has a great ear, is super encouraging, and provides great advice. Would recommend her as an instructor!
Wow. Forget how amazing Shubha is as a singer on her own, she’s somehow an even better instructor. For a few months I had audition after audition and things just weren’t working out. Then I had this audition that was a really great opportunity and even though I knew it was a long shot, I really wanted the part. Naturally, I was really nervous about it. But I had heard about Shubha through some friends so I decided to reached out. To say she helped me get the part would be an understatement. She is the reason I got the part. Her approach and techniques helped me calm down and feel more prepared for an audition than I have ever felt before. I’ve never felt so good about my voice and I have Shubha to thank for that.Show More
