My teaching philosophy focuses on creating a relationship between the student and the piano that is a lifelong source of joy and discovery. I continually look for music that inspires the student at any skill level and I set small, easily achievable goals that allow the student to feel motivated by his or her own success. My goal is to guide the student on a path toward self-expression, having fun while learning, and overcoming challenges through organization and consistency.

I have a master's degree in piano performance and studied with some of the most wonderful, reputable teachers in the US and in Europe. 

I have 25 years of piano playing and 10 years of teaching experience.

Shirin is an excellent teacher.  She explains concepts in a way that is so easy to understand and execute.  I am much farther along than I thought I would be.  I look forward to each lesson time and always learn something new about playing the piano.
