Do you want to learn to play an instrument? Learn how to play flute! The flute is an amazing instrument with a rich history. The flute is one of the first musical instruments ever invented and has been around for thousands of years. It is great to exercise your breathing because it requires more air than any other instrument, even the huge tuba! It is because most of your air goes over the hole of the flute. The flute is considered a woodwind instrument even though it is made of metal. It is the only woodwind instrument that does not have a reed. I love my flute and playing the flute. My name is Shelly and I have been playing my flute since I was in 5th grade. I am now 50 years old. I have two great kids, one in college at Penn State and one in 10th grade. I teach beginner flute lessons. If you have never played the flute, are new to playing the flute, or a beginner...I would love to work with you. I work with all ages from preschool to adult. I am patient and kind. I do this because I simply love music, flute, and teaching. We will have fun together and you will learn about the most amazing instrument!
