Shannon C. began singing in church at the age of eight, and continued throughout high school. After taking a few years away from music, she returned to singing and completed a Bachelor of Music in Performance degree at Indiana Universty’s Fort Wayne campus, where she won the Concerto/Aria competition in 2009, and was awarded the Emilene Manheim Scholarship for Soprano. She also holds a Master of Music in Performance from Converse College in South Carolina. With professional experience in opera and musical theatre, Shannon C. draws from a large repertoire and enjoys helping students of all ages realize their musical potential while maintaining good vocal health. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and an adjudicator for the Indiana State School Music Association. When not teaching she continues to perform professionally, and works to further her education and knowledge of music and the human voice.
