I started taking lessons when I was nine years old and have studied many different styles with many great instructors from all over the world. Thirty years later this is my passion and my voice.
I received my Bachelors Degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. My specialization was in Classical Guitar Performance. During my course of studies, I was asked to instruct a credit course, which I did for three years. Teaching this course opened my eyes to a hidden passion, teaching.
For graduate studies, I attended the University of Denver. The marvelous program at this university showed me a new world of music.

My teaching philosophy is an organic one. Musical concepts and ideas should make sense to the student and should not be an esoteric struggle. Learning an instrument should be a natural process. Most importantly, the musical experience should be fun for everyone involved.
I use materials from many different sources spanning 500 years and try to fashion lessons based upon my students' learning styles and desires. My teaching style has been called laid back. I like to enjoy my time with each student.
All I ask from the student is regular practice and a solid commitment. With this philosophy in mind, the student can expect to excel in his or her own style of music.
*** Specialties ***
I use a synthesis of many methods from the last 3 centuries.
