This all began years ago when one of my dear friends asked me to teach her daughter to play piano. I started teaching and haven’t looked back since. I’ve had a number of students and absolutely love to share something I love so much with so many others.

I place high emphasis on music literacy and take time to help my students reach fluency when it comes to both reading and writing music. Every lesson, part of the time is spent focused on music theory to build understanding of not just piano but music itself.

With 8 years of teaching experience under my belt, I have a teaching technique perfect for every learning style. I will teach you, not just individual songs, but how to truly embrace music from any style with focus on reading and understanding sheet music. If you’re new to music and want to try an instrument before you commit, our lessons together will give you a base understanding of music theory you can use with any instrument you like. The world of music is big and wonderful, let me introduce you to it!

Sarah was very patient with me. She adapted to my level quickly. I took 5 lessons with her and felt I learned a lot in a short period of time. I was able to play beginner’s songs. She helped me to read music. She was also very professional. I highly recommend Sarah!

Sarah did a beautiful job teaching piano to my daughter - she is very patient, kind, and structures her lessons around the needs of the student. My 11 year-old son has been taking lessons with Sarah for the past 2 years. She is a wonderful instructor! She pushes him just enough to challenge him but is also happy to slow down when he needs more time to grasp a new concept. I appreciate that her instruction is very well rounded and goes beyond just playing the correct notes. She helps her students develop musicality and to learn to express the feeling behind the music. She has also been readily available to help when my son has had questions in between lessons. I would highly recommend Sarah!

I would highly recommend Sarah. She is a very talented piano player and an excellent teacher. My daughter was taking piano lessons with someone else and was doing okay, but when we switched to Sarah I noticed the difference immediately.  She really takes her time with my daughter and makes sure she understands how to play a song before moving on. My daughter’s playing has improved dramatically and it’s all thanks to Sarah! You will not find a better instructor.....We will be students for life!!!
