Classical Voice with Sarah E.

Hello! I am so excited to be sharing what I have learned throughout my singing career with you! I have come to thoroughly enjoy the art of vocal music through many different avenues. When I was very young, I first started singing popular music and musical theater, but soon came to love jazz, classical, rock, etc. I know that there is something valuable in any type of music and I will help you improve your singing in any genre you choose! I have come to realize, after many years of performing, how important it is to enjoy what you are singing. I will collaborate with students to know their interests and goals in order to best cater to their individual needs. I want to help them discover their unique voice as I have and find more joy in life! In my young teen years, I learned how to play the upright contrabass. I played in many orchestras and jazz big bands. I was first introduced to jazz in this way, and I soon began to sing with the big band at my high school, as well as jazz combos and big bands at college. I've studied with multiple professional jazz vocalists and instrumentalists, making jazz one of my areas of expertise. I have also been trained by many professional private teachers and professors in classical voice as well as musical theater. In voice lessons, it will be imperative to learn the importance of conveying a story to the audience. This is another area of mine that I will be able to help my students come to know, understand, and execute effectively. I am also very knowledgeable and experienced in playing with a live band, pianists, or other instrumentalists. This can be a hard skill to master, and requires different singing skills and tactics in order for a performance to go well. It is also one of the best things I've been able to learn and do in my singing career! Many prestigious teachers have worked with me in various genres such as pop and rock, and the way I teach will help you to sing any style of music you desire in a healthy and beautiful way. The sky is the limit!
