Have a blast learning how to play piano with an experienced teacher!

Learning a new skill can be hard for many reasons, especially if we desire to be proficient from the get-go. The way through that more difficult learning curve at the beginning of our musical journey is by finding the fun. This is why one of the things I focus on the most in lessons is helping my students feel comfortable while we also have a great time! In my 13 years as a private voice, piano, and songwriting teacher I’ve found that this keeps students interested in learning their instruments for a much longer period. Are you a beginner? Or someone who took lessons long ago? I love being the teacher to help you fall in love with music (again!). Together we'll find the right way forward and I can't wait to help you learn that song you've always dreamed of playing! With my music degree and my 14 years of teaching experience - I can promise you a great musical foundation and a nurturing environment to learn in!

    About Sara P.

Fresh out of music school, I began teaching lessons on top of my full-time job with my first student in the summer of 2010 when I was just 24 years old. I quit my full-time job in early 2013 to pursue teaching full time and I’ve been doing it ever since. In 2020 my entire lesson studio transitioned to being online and we've never gone back! Teaching remotely has allowed me to continue to help my students learn and fall in love with music even when we don’t live in the same zip code or time zone! I now have students as far away as Virginia. My teaching philosophy: Learning a new skill can be hard for many reasons, especially if we desire to be proficient from the get-go. The way through that more difficult learning curve at the beginning of our musical journey is by finding the fun. This is why one of the things I focus on the most in lessons is helping my students feel comfortable while we also have a great time! In my 14 years as a private voice, piano, and songwriting teacher I’ve found that this keeps students interested in learning their instruments for a much longer period. I also believe in a strong musical foundation; learning music is like learning a new language. In our lessons, we’ll discuss music theory, musicianship, and the music we love and why we love it. With these discussions, we can dive more deeply into understanding music. If you're looking for a skilled and fun teacher - let's work together! Making music with my students is the joy of my life!
