Hello my name is Samuel Gutsmiedl. I am a Drum/Percussion teacher from Northern Illinois. I have been playing drums in various outlets since 2000, and teaching drums since 2006. I got my first bit of teaching experience right after middle school. My band teacher in middle school gave me the opportunity to start teaching group technique lessons during the summer music camp at the school. After working at my middle school for 4 years during the summers I was given the opportunity to teach with 2 different high school drum lines in 2011 which I have been blessed to work with ever since. In 2014 I started teaching drum set lessons on a regular basis through different music studios through Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. While I was busy building up my drum teaching experience I also was building up a performing resume. In the last 20 years I have performed in : Blues bands, Ska Bands, Metal Bands, Jazz Bands, Latin Jazz Bands, New Orleans Brass Bands, Alternative Rock Bands, Percussion ensembles, Theatre Pit orchestras , amongst many other outlets. I am so excited to share my 2 decades of experience, and love of drumming with you!
