About Samuel D.

(3)
I've been teaching music for over a decade. During that time I've taught guitar privately and in masterclasses, theory and improvisation in a classroom setting, and coached ensembles. My teaching philosophy is focused entirely on helping my students attain their musical goals. Whether the goal is to play Carnegie Hall or play a few songs with friends around a campfire, I use my varied teaching and performing experience to help the student attain that goal through personalized lesson plans. Through this approach, I find students are able to stay engaged, have fun, and make exciting musical discoveries. Nothing is more gratifying to me as a teacher than to see someone have a breakthrough while learning to do something they enjoy!

First lesson was great! Sam assessed my skills, catered a lesson plan, then pulled me in... Right where I wanted to be! Looking forward to next week's lesson!
