As trumpet was not my first instrument, I bring to the table a unique perspective when teaching. My curriculum is tailored to each student so that it may exhibit and cultivate their strengths while also helping them to recognize and tackle their shortcomings.

I'm an Oklahoma City based brass teacher currently pursuing degrees in Music Education as well as Instrumental Performance at Oklahoma City University. I have played with a number of groups in the state of Oklahoma including the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Alex Lewis Jazz Quintet, 25th Street Brass Quintet, the Amici New York Orchestra, and even the odd rock show. With a background in many genres, I am a well rounded musician capable of offering my students exactly the style of music instruction they are searching for.

Sam is a great teacher. My eleven year old son is learning Trumpet for the first time and is just so un-stressed with Sam. I can tell it's really helping him get a shortcut to confidence in Band with other kids who've been playing for a longer time. Sam is easy going, patient, and I think can relate to kids on an eye-to-eye level. Every time after a lesson my son is says "I can't believe that was 30 minutes, it just flew by!" I can tell he always looks forward to every lesson, which is a big relief for anyone who is trying to keep their kids engaged in homework, lessons, and everything they do.
