Viola with Samiyah S.

I am a classically trained violist of fifteen years, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education at Georgia State University. I teach beginning viola to all ages and backgrounds. My passion is helping you reach your goals, all while having fun. I regularly perform with my University symphony, and have experience playing in both school and community orchestras. I have been fortunate enough to perform alongside world class artists and be involved in masterclasses with Grammy award-winning string musicians. In addition to teaching basic technique and geography of the viola, I use my extensive knowledge of music history and theory to teach beginning lessons on how to read music and (especially) alto clef. And, if you don’t want to follow a strictly classical path? I’m here for that, too! I aim to teach each student to be dynamic and proficient in their musical skills, no matter the style.
