Build amazing Country Guitar skills with lessons and practice sessions from a versatile performing guitarist

The most valuable thing I learned as a student and a teacher is that the learning process is worth infinitely more than the song or the chord the student was actually learning. I will almost never give a student the answer, because if we work together to find that answer, the student feels like they earned it, they have learned skills that will help them in all future things that they learned, and they also are much more likely to remember what they have just discovered. Spending time building a chord or transcribing a song together from scratch is infinitely more valuable than handing a student a list of things to memorize. Music is such a deeply rich and complex thing that absolutely everyone can experience, do and love, and I want to help everyone to that point.

    About Sam L.

I started playing guitar when I was 7 and loved it. A couple years after that I started playing in bands, and a couple years after that I started writing music. I've done music programs and studied guitar at Interlochen Center for the Arts and Berklee School of Music. In the summer of 2019 I worked at the School of Rock in Montclair NJ; I directed groups of 9- to 14-year-olds and taught them music which they then performed at a real venue. In the summer of 2021 I ran the guitar department at Camp Ballibay. I taught up to six lessons a day as well as directed "bands". Together, the band members and I picked a song and they rehearsed every day under my guidance and eventually performed for the whole camp. I directed around 20 bands that summer. I love playing music and I love playing music with people. Every lesson I have ever taught has been a learning experience for me. On that same note, I like to think I've picked up a couple things over the years and would love to share what I know.
