I am a professional pianist and the founder of A. Music Academy with over 20 years of experience in teaching and performing. I am an international member of the American College of Musicians and MTAC certified. I am also a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Taking music lessons goes beyond learning your instrument. Music is the universal language and allows us to express ourselves and allow inner creativity to flourish. Piano students can expect to improve week to week in their piano technique, sight-reading, and music theory. I teach students how to easily sight-read and learn all notes in an effective and efficient way. My goal is to teach you all the basic foundational skills of piano so that you will be able to put any piece of music in front of you, and sight-read it effortlessly. I teach piano students of all different ages and experience levels. I am a classically trained pianist since the age of six, and participated in yearly MTAC (Music Teachers Association of California) tests, competitions, and recitals for piano performance and music theory. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play classical piano pieces, pop songs, jazz and contemporary music. I structure my lessons depending on the goals and unique talents that each student brings into the classroom. After a long day of work or school, my intention is to provide my students with a safe space to develop their talents and unique styles while learning the essential techniques of piano playing. No matter what your skill level is, I can teach you popular classical, jazz, or pop songs using the right techniques and exercises. I love to structure my lessons with warm-ups, finger exercises, and specific lesson/performance pieces tailored to your skill level. Students are highly encouraged to ask questions and interact with me during our lessons as this creates a fun learning environment and muscle memory to retain the information we learn during our sessions. My personal passion is classical music but I firmly believe that having a strong foundation in technique is essential to any and every style of music.
