Learn violin from an expert teacher with 25+ years experience and a Masters in Music Performance

Somatically informed teaching practices combined with research-based pedagogy provide my students with an educational experience that goes deeper than just playing notes. I believe in music as a pathway to growth and personal expression, allowing students to explore their creativity. For ambitious students interested in competitive solo and orchestral experiences, I have the knowledge and experience to build and refine their skills for maximum performance results. My graded curriculum provides a comprehensive structure for learning note reading, theory, ear training, sight reading, technique, performance skills, improv skills, and more. I'm deeply passionate about teaching and would love to help you achieve your musical goals, whatever they may be!

    About Sage I.

Hi, I'm Sage! I'm an orchestral string player with 25 years of experience performing and teaching. I currently offer private lessons on violin, fiddle, viola, cello, and double bass. My musical background includes classical solo and orchestral technique, folk and alternative styles, improvisation, historical performance practice, and modern performance art. As a concerto competition winner with a master's degree in music performance, I have the skills and experience to coach dedicated young players in competitive settings. My training in Alexander Technique, Body Mapping, and Music Therapy allows me to work with students who need special accommodation or trauma-informed teaching. With a teaching style grounded in somatic practice and creative learning, I take students of all ages and ability levels. Whatever your musical goals, I am excited to help you reach them!
