Cello with Rong C.

Jenny Rong C. is a Memphis-based educator, soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral cellist. She is currently the graduate assistant at the University of Memphis. As an educator, Ms. C. has devoted herself to her teaching, acting as a role model for her students. She has taught as a private cello teacher in both China and America, and she can teach lessons in Mandarin and English. Ms. C. has taught cello lessons, Music Appreciation, and Intro to Music Theory at Interlochen Music Camp, University of Memphis, Blue Lake Music Camp, Arts for Life’s Sake in Memphis.A passionate performer, Ms. C. has performed in various of local events and concerts in the Memphis area, including playing the national anthem with the Bluff City Cello Ensemble for the NBA Grizzlies at Memphis’ FedEx Forum (2019). She performed Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake as the principal cellist with the University Symphony Orchestra and the Collage Dance Collective at the Germantown Performing Arts Center (2019). She also performs for services in the local church Blessed Sacrament Church, and for the non-profit Target House of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (2019). Before she moved to Memphis, Ms. C. performed in many music festivals and university concerts, including the Tucson Jazz Music Festival (2019), the Tucson Cello Congress (2018,2019) and Blue Lake Music Camp (2018). Ms. C. is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree as a graduate assistant at the University of Memphis. She holds other performance degrees from University of Arizona and East China Normal University. Her principal teachers include Dr. Kimberely Patterson, Dr. Theodore Buchloz, and Jingjin Cai.
