Hi everyone, my name is Rio and I am from Texas. I started guitar lessons in January of 1986. I quickly developed because of an insatiable drive to create chill-inducing music, initially inspired by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Randy Rhoads, Alex Lifeson and Eddie Van Halen. After more experience, the list grew, including Steve Vai, Steve Morse, Eric Johnson and Allan Holdsworth.

I have played in over 60 musical projects, both recording and live, and am currently recording solo instrumental albums on bandcamp.com under the project name of Baha Nehan Agia, with 25 albums and counting.

After graduating from the University of North Texas (1997) with a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Guitar Performance (minor in Music Theory), I have exclusively been a professional musician, teaching, recording and performing live.

I teach ALL styles of music on guitar. I teach beginner piano, as I have a new-found passion for it.

My teaching style is serious, but my youthful attitude reflects enjoying the privilege of teaching the art of music. Although I have plenty of experience with young and older beginners, I am quite adept at assessing the exact individual needs of each student, regardless of experience level and, for more advanced students, I fuse relevant music theory concepts with techniques that accommodate the specifically desired styles of each student. After analyzing thousands of guitar parts over the years, I can properly guide each student to play accurate guitar parts in the most efficient way possible. My ultimate goal for each student is to learn how to be their own effective teacher.
