I have a unique background in that I didn't go to a typical 4 year conservatory, but I was able to procure a job with the First Violin Section of The Philadelphia Orchestra. I have a very practical teaching style that I believe is effective with every level of violinist. Many of my students have won auditors at every level from District and Youth Orchestras to full scholarships to major Conservatories to jobs with Major Symphony Orchestras!
About Richard A.

My name is Richard Amoroso. I am a longtime member of First Violin Section of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Even longer than that, I am a Certified Music Teacher. The road to my success is less traveled in that I didn't attend a formal Conservatory. I attended a liberal arts college and completed a BA in Economics. After college, I completed my Certification in Music Ed, After that I decided to go back into Performance and studied with great teachers such as William DePasquale and Rafael Druian in the hopes of achieving a spot in a major Symphony Orchestra. The abbreviated story is after 3 years of intense practice, lessons and self discipline, I won my dream job in my home town with the Philadelphia Orchestra. My teaching style is very practical and speaks to the hard work and mental conditioning that go beyond what one thinks is possible. Many of my students have gone on to win positions in Orchestras at every level as well as full scholarships to major conservatories. As a teacher, my desire is to give my students the tools that they need to help themselves improve day in and day out. I want them to be in charge of their destiny provided they do the work. I very much focus on the fundamentals of violin playing with scales and etudes etc. But I also like to coach one's mindset and mental game, Provided one has the vision, understands the process and is willing, sky's the limit!
