Hi! My name is Reid, and I have been a theatre teacher, artist advocate, and professional director for over 25 years. My background includes actor training for professional artists, and students of all levels, ages, and special needs, at such theatres as ACT, Actors Theatre of Louisville (Tony Award winner), and Berkeley's Shotgun Players. I believe that learning and artistic expression are a right, not a privilege. In my work with students of all ages and educational styles I strive to provide educational resources, opportunituies, and relationships through training that fosters independent and critical thinking, artistic expression, mentorship, and authentic expression. As one Artory Student notes “Education is in you, education comes from experiences, struggles, and points of view. We’ve become so consumed in obtaining a paper that tells you “you are enough to do this” when in reality you are enough, right now, right here where you stand.” Working one on one or in larger class settings (artory.org) I find that healing and empowerment are constant byproducts of artistic expression. I believe in passionate engagement, in relationships and trust, in discovering our greatest potential, and in empowering yourself through artistic expression. Join us!
