Violin with Rebecca I.

Rebecca loves connecting with others and believes music can be a powerful influence in the lives of students and communities. At age 11 she picked up the Violin for fun in school. What started as a fun hobby has now become a lifelong passion and pursuit. Switching to Viola freshman year, she earned scholarships, helped in leadership positions and she became the first violist in her high school to compete in the Viola State Competition her Junior year. Earning a music scholarship at BYU-Idaho, she received one on one training with outstanding faculty members. Instructors included Lisa McNiven and Dr. R. Kevin Call, who has studied with renowned musician William Primrose. In addition to an enriched educational experience, she has performed over 4 years with the BYU-Idaho Symphony Orchestra, has toured with the BYU-I Sinfonieta and participated as a guest ensemble member in the Idaho Falls Symphony. Finishing up her studies, she is expected to graduate December 2017 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. Now at Music Village, Rebecca is excited to help students of all ages not only find satisfaction in playing, but joy in their accomplishments as musicians.
