I've been playing saxophone for over 20 years and hold a degree in music performance. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of traveling and performing as a professional along with being recognized for various awards for my improvisational and compositional skills. I've released 5 CD's of my own which showcase a lot of my original music. One of my targets in helping students is to help bring out what they already have inside their soul. I had great teachers that helped me to better express what I was hearing and imagining inside, and I want to pour into my students out of the abundance of what I've received from my teachers in addition to my own personal experience in the area of music. *** Lesson Details *** I like to start out by breaking down how I look at music from the stand point of it having two sides, a technical side & a conceptual side. The technical side deals with all of the mechanical things needed for one to have together to get around on the instrument first like, sound production, tone quality, scales, arpeggios, etc. The Concept side deals with what music the student came up listening to from the stand point of what genre, what artists, what songs, etc. Then, I'll need to know what are the goals that are desired to be accomplished based on what the student projects conceptually by way of the artists that they like. Then in future lessons we can break down the details on how to actually get to the desire goal of the student. *** Studio Equipment *** Whiteboard Mac: - Band In The Box - Logic Pro - Sibelius IPad - Garageband - IReal B *** Specialties *** Instruments: Saxophone & AKAI EWI 4000s Teaching Areas: Playing by ear Jazz studies Song writing Performing Music Business: Marketing your music online Ways to make money with your music Managing your following
