*** Travel Equipment *** If it's just theory, any small keyboard will suffice. If it's piano, especially classical, the minimal instrument would be a 76-key or larger weighted action keyboard with a sustain pedal. The ideal would be an acoustic piano. *** Specialties *** I'm a very versatile pianist. I've played percussion all my life as well. In the professional world I'm mostly a conductor these days, working on Broadway, consulting on new projects, orchestrating, etc. The styles that I deal with every day range from Pop, to Classical, to Broadway, to World Music and everything in-between. My knowledge, as a musicologist, is very vast as well as my confidence in theory and the history of it all. My strongest styles to teach are classical piano and pop music (all kinds), and if you're looking to improve your groove or ability to play in a band or a group (whether it's rock music or chamber music) I can help bring your playing to the next level. My approach will depend on you, so if you need a more informal teacher or someone more structured & strict I can accommodate both ends of the spectrum. We'll find out what you need together. :-)
