About Phil O.
I’ve developed a unique approach to understand the guitar and bass. Whether someone is a beginner or even advanced. I’ve found a way that gives new insight to the instrument.
Even those who are advanced have commented, “My playing has gotten so much better – people are complimenting me on how much I’ve improved.” and… “You’ve really opened up the instrument to me.” One former student who had been playing 50 years prior to coming to our studio said, “I’ve learned more from you in the past 6 months than my last 30 years of playing!”
I’ve learned a lot from my students as well. Due to my open style of teaching. I’ve designed alternate ways for students to learn.
When I started teaching I was pretty set on each student having to learn how to read music. However, I found not everyone had this desire. This has led me to design different ways to learn music. I teach students ways to understand where the notes exist on the neck by reading chord charts and seeing patterns. Using these various methods they still learn the entire neck.
I now have two distinct paths a student can take:
If the student wants? Teach them to become a skilled sight-reader.
If the student is not interested in sight-reading? Teach them to understand music in a non-traditional path.
My Goal: To help others learn the guitar in the most time efficient manner possible. And, in a way that will cut years off the traditional methods most guitarists learn with!
