Peter received his B.M. in Composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and his Ph.D. in Composition from the University of California, Berkeley. He has studied composition with Andrew Imbrie, Conrad Susa, Jorge Liderman, Elinor Armer, David Conte, Cindy Cox and Edwin Dugger. He has also studied Piano Performance at Texas Christian University with protege of Lili Kraus Donna Edwards and Caio Pagano. He has won awards as a piano soloist, and has worked as an accompanist for soloists and ensembles and taught piano and theory for almost 30 years. *** Lesson Details *** I design lesson plans around the individual goals of my students: I can prepare them to embark on careers in music, or just to play or compose for pleasure, or simply to deepen their understanding of the music to which they listen. Learning to play an instrument well takes patient dedication and work on the part of the student to reap the many rewards waiting along the way; as a teacher, I therefore also offer my unlimited patience in support of my students, providing them with ample tools, techniques and knowledge with which to maximize their progress, but understanding that their individual priorities and available practice time will vary. If students wish to advance rapidly, I am delighted to help them do so; but I don't require more commitment from students than they are capable of giving. *** Travel Equipment *** Keyboard
