I am a professional live and studio recording drummer, producer, and songwriter. I am currently gigging and touring the country with a popular alternative rock band, as well as with the band I co-founded just over two years ago. I have recorded drums for three studio albums and co-wrote one of them. I have seven years of experience performing everything from rock, jazz, to worship music. I studied under multiple seasoned jazz, classical, and drumline professionals for over ten years. I love playing drums in church and have been doing it since childhood. Nowadays I consistently lead worship multiple times a week at various churches in PA and New Jersey when I am not on tour. I learned everything I know about the drums from private teachers and mentors in the music industry, so I myself am a strong believer in the importance that one-on-one learning has in developing superior musicianship and discipline. I start every student from the basics, no matter your skill level, beginning with hand technique and basic coordination, all the way up to linear composition and limb independence. A large part of my teaching is helping students learn by ear. This includes musical notation, being able to break up songs by section, and developing a basic knowledge of musical language; all of which are essential to being a drummer and musician! I do stress sight-reading, but if a student shows interest then I can teach it. Students can expect to see immediate results in their efficiency and precision behind the kit while maintaining an excitement about the instrument. Fun and play are essential to musical progression and enjoyment, so I keep sessions as fun and exciting as I can. In addition to teaching the mechanics of the drums, I pride myself on providing support and quality mentorship to students. I help them out in their musical endeavors, whether it be finding gigs, learning how to network, recording their music, or just helping find their true purpose in music. All-in-all, I just love the drums with every fiber of my being. I look forward to meeting every single student and helping them become better musicians and drummers!
