Peter Furlan is an exceptional musician and music educator. I have worked with him at Bergen Community College where he has directed the Jazz Ensemble for many years. He is a very student-centered music instructor who is adept at working with students from various backgrounds and abilities. His professionalism is unrivaled and he shares his love of music generously with his students. I have worked with Peter both as an educator and as a musician. His dedication to musical excellence and artistic expression has always been an inspiration and any student who is fortunate enough to study with him will certainly see improvement in their instrumental technique but most importantly, build self-esteem and personal growth in addition to their musicianship. There is no better instructor, then Pete Furlan. Not only is he a supremely competent performer, but an award winning educator. He can teach a student who is at the most advanced level and foster high musical skills in a beginner. He ability to teach improvisation and Jazz is second to none. I have not known a more dedicated educator.
