    About Peng D.

    Peng Du, a native of China, is a Doctoral candidate in piano performance and literature under the tutelage of Timothy Ehlen. Aside from being a recipient of the Longford Keyboard Fellowship, Ms. Du was a winner of several international piano competitions. Additionally, she has performed as a young artist in the PianoTexas International Academy and Festival, the Montecito International Music Festival, the Summer Piano Institute at the University of Illinois and the Beijing International Piano Festival. Her doctoral research focuses on the humorous aspect of early Beethoven’s piano music. As a winner of the Golden Key International Music Festival, she performed Beethoven’s well-known humorous piano sonata Op. 31 No. 1 at the Weil Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. In March 2020, Ms. Du will attend the Beethoven The European International Conference in Italy and present a part of her doctoral research. As of 2018, Ms. Du joined the faculty at the Illinois Summer Youth Music Festival and Piano Laboratory Program in Urbana, IL.
