    About Pedro B.

Is your aim to win that next karaoke competition at your local pub, to get that next solo in your church choir, to score the lead in your school's musical, or are you destined to grace stages and auditoriums around the world? From R&B and Jazz to Musical Theatre and Opera, I have sung it all, and I can teach you to, as well! From a young age, I loved to perform. Whether it was just to a group of friends, singing songs we all loved or performing in high school choir groups and musicals, I loved any opportunity to use my voice! Thankfully, early on, I had fantastic voice teachers and coaches to help mold me on my journey. Sometimes the sounds WE hear, are not actually the way they sound to others, and having that qualified ear can be a huge factor in making us better as singers and musicians. Through the years, I have had the opportunity to sit in with various jazz groups, perform with musical theater companies across the Midwest, and I have developed a still growing opera career that has taken me from Minnesota, down the Great Plains, all the way over to Florida, and up the East Coast! It is all something I could have never imagined when I was much younger. As a teacher of voice, this real world experience allows me to give my students insight into how to approach singing in a manner that not only helps them be their best karaoke selves, but to sing 10 to 15 shows a weeks if given the opportunity! My education includes a Bachelor degree in Voice, Theater, and Dance from Northern Illinois University and a Master Degree in Opera Vocal Performance from Louisiana State University. During my studies, I had the opportunity to study acting at the Moscow Art Theater School in Moscow, Russia. The training I gained there provides me a unique way to help my students find more dramatically nuanced ways to perform their music. I have also received training in Alexander and Fitzmaurice movement and voice techniques, which allow for greater ease and healthier usage of the body and voice, for a more holistic experience as well. Add the fact that I LOVE to have fun while also shooting straight about any issues I hear, and my students are sure to have a blast as they receive practical, insightful information to help them become the best performers they can be!
