Drums with Patrick L.

I am currently studying Jazz Performance at the University of Nevada, Reno. I have been teaching privately in my hometown of Sacramento for around 5 years. I have worked with various types of students. I have worked with people from the age of 7 to the age of 60. I was a music tutor at my last college and held after school group sessions through the school. Studying music at school has allowed me to be well rounded as a musician as I have gained an extensive knowledge in music theory and various genres. For the me, the most important part of lessons is gaining the ability to learn how to learn. This skill set is invaluable and carries over to every aspect of life. Students can expect to learn music theory, drum technique, and the ability to play what you hear. As a student as well, I know that the only way to get better at this instrument is to take what you learn in lessons and apply it through daily practice. Homework given can range from getting an etude up to speed to listening intently to albums of music. I look forward to working with you!
