Opera Voice

Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
I approach my teaching by finding every singer's true and honest voice, and then exploring ways to make that voice as free and beautiful as possible. In the course of our lessons I will utilize techniques to explore breath control, resonance, range and freedom of not only the voice, but the body's ability to express while performing.

Every person that is capable of speech is capable of singing beautifully, and I fully embrace that mantra as a teacher. With that approach, I teach a wide variety of styles, ranging from Music Theater to classically informed Operatic Singing. Let's make some music!

Teaching since:

I am an opera singer here in the Bay Area, with Professional Stage experience in Opera, Music Theater, Choral Work and Spoken Word. Most recently I've performed on stage at San Francisco Opera, West Bay Opera, Lamplighter's Music Theater and Pocket Opera! I also regularly work with Education Outreach Organizations such as the San Francisco Opera Guild, to bring opera to Elementary schools around the Bay Area.

I love working with students of all ages and have been teaching since my undergraduate in 2010. Speaking of school, I hold a Bachelor of Music from The Pennsylvania State University in Voice with an emphasis on Vocal Pedagogy. I also hold a Master of Music from The San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where I continued my work in Pedagogy and Vocal Anatomy / Physiology.

Excellent first lesson. Good combination of basic theory, vocal production, and actual singing. Loved it!

Although my daughter did not work with Patrick long he was so encouraging and worked with my daughter and gave her tools to grow and work on. We hope to work with him again very soon as schedule permits. Thanks again for the confidence build for my daughter!

A brilliant voice and a wonderful understanding of how the voice mechanism works, Patrick really communicates with his students and provides clear but masterful instruction. I always feel like I understand a bit more every time I discuss music with him.

Patrick has been a colleague for mine for over 4 years now. He is a fantastic teacher with a solid vocal technique, and I have seen him work with students of all ages and skill levels. He curates his teaching to suit each individual student and helps them grow and forge their own path into singing in a positive, affirming atmosphere. He is personable and kind, and I could not recommend him more.
