Cello with Olivia H.

I began studying the cello at 9 years old and went on to pursue a degree in Cello Performance at Vanderbilt University. During my undergraduate degree, I performed with the Nashville Sinfonietta, toured with my string quartet in Aix-en-Provence, France, and spent a semester studying abroad at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In addition I taught cello lessons at the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and took courses in pedagogy and orchestral repertoire. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and am on the path to working as an orchestral musician. I have always believed that the act of making music is a deeply psychological experience, and therefore am focused on incorporating mindfulness and elements of sports psychology into mastering the art of performing.
