Singing with Nya H.

I'm a classically and jazz trained vocalist. I graduated from University of the Arts in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in music. My students can expect a safe environment to try different techniques and methods without judgement. Each week (or any schedule that works best for the student) we will expand their understanding of their own internal instrument. We will focus on basic techniques and ideas that are key to a successful singer such as, breathing, lack of vocal strain, and posture. After becoming more comfortable with those concepts, we will focus on becoming a more confident vocalist, developing a strong technique, and preparing to be a performer. I have experience teaching people from 7 years old to others well into their 40's. It is important to hone in on the strengths of each student. I've studied classical music and opera at Baltimore School for the Arts. I also studied jazz at University of the Arts. Both schools helped identify my strengths as a singer and furthered my understanding of vocal music. In turn, I hope to elevate my students knowledge the way both schools allowed me to.
