My background as a pianist is in classical music, with a few years studying jazz during my late teens and early twenties. The years of training have taught the value of proper technique and playing style, but my focus in adulthood has been my songwriting, which leans toward folk & americana. Today, I play and lead a Portland based Indie-folk group called SnugHouse.

I found myself living in Maine about 7 years ago, when I started studying for my undergraduate degree at Bowdoin College. Before then, I had lived all over the place, most notably in Saratoga, California and New Delhi, India. I'm enjoying life here immensely - though I'm still getting used to the cold!
Playing and listening to music has been a consistent thread through my life, and I think it's a big part of the reason that home has never needed to be a place for me - it's always been a question of emotional connection to the people around me. I studied Math and Computer Science in college, though I was fairly certain even then that I'd be pursuing a career in music before long.
Today, my primary creative outlet is in performing with and leading my five-piece indie folk band, SnugHouse. Working with the group has been a very fulfilling marriage of my pursuits as pianist, guitarist, singer and vocal arranger. We play shows regularly all around the northeast.
