Violin with Nicole S.

I am a professional violinist currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in music specifically violin. I started playing the violin at the age of 3 and ever since have continued to pursue my passion for music. I first started taking lessons in Japan then continued after moving to America. I have studied under professional violinists from the Colburn School of Music in California as well as attended the pre-college program. I have been a part of many music summer camps in chamber music as well as the orchestra, providing me with a wide variety of experiences. In 2013 I was invited by the Sons of Orpheus Men's choir group to perform with them in Italy. Since high school, I have participated in major orchestras as well as competed in state-wide competitions. I have won 2nd place in the Arizona Music Educators completion, 2nd place in the Tucson philharmonic competition, 3rd place in the Arizona State Concerto competition, 1st place in the Civic Orchestra competition as well as other competitions. I understand that every student learns at a different pace and every lesson plan will cater to each individual student and their needs. I will be teaching students to read music and really pursue their passion in music. We will build a strong foundation of technique of to help students play with the freedom and confidence they need to truly enjoy the violin. All genres of music are welcome although I am more strongly trained in classical violin. I do have experience playing fiddle, contemporary, movie music, as well as a few other genres.
