Voice lessons are an opportunity to hone the most unique instrument in the world, our voice. Not only will we study proper vocal techniques with classical training to strengthen our voices, learn or grow our reading abilities, develop ear training, and study diverse genres, we will develop confidence through self discovery and our voices.

About Nicole C.

Nicole C.Is available for online lessons. Nicole has been singing for over 25 years and teaching music since 2012. Her latest project, Vox Medusa, has performed the last 4 years at the MN Fringe Festival, winning them Audience Choice. Nicole teaches all experience levels from beginner to intermediate and advanced. Nicole is the Music Director at MN Valley UU Fellowship.

Nicole developed her own method of teaching to positively enhance the student's strength, confidence, ear-training, memorization and techniques by creating a safe space for expression. Her positive and approachable personality sets the tone for a good singing experience.

In Beginning lessons, we discuss goals of the student to establish the skill level, beginning with vocalizes. Reading music isn't mandatory. Nicole sometimes incorporates classical technique as she believes it is rooted as a foundation for good breath support and quality of tone. After initial lessons, student's continue to explore other styles including jazz, musical theater, world, improvisation, rock, and contemporary, depending on the student's goals.

Nicole attended McNally Smith College of Music, St. Paul, MN. She also continues to perform nationally and Internationally with various local, while teaching at performing arts schools in the Twin Cities.

“If you’re wondering if this person is an excellent music coach, she is. If you are wondering if she can help you improve your singing skills, she can. If you are wondering if she is gentle, intuitive, patient, funny, engaging and honest, she is. If you are wondering if she loves her work, I believe she does. I cannot say enough glowing and positive things about Nicole. I feel very lucky to have met her in my lifetime and lucky to have had her as a teacher and friend.
I met Nicole through my church. I remember watching her work with the children’s choir after a service one Sunday. She was amazing to watch. She was teaching them a song from the movie Moana. The song was in a different language and very difficult to learn in my opinion. It was “Foa’i-We Know The Way”. This is when I first saw Nicole’s gift. She was engaging, funny, clear, and happy, and I could just feel the love that the children had for her and that she had for them. She brought her whole wonderful self to that moment in time with them and she was amazing. They eventually performed that song for the church during a service and it was beautiful.
I have, since that time, joined the church choir where Nicole is now the music director and I have taken private voice lessons from her. She is the biggest reason that I have begun experiencing music again in a deep and meaningful way. I hadn’t sung for anyone in more than 30 years. That moment of seeing Nicole in her element, with the kids and with the music, gave me the courage to try something that I used to love to do, sing. I am grateful to her for all her talent and patience, and compassion, and caring and sensitivity as well as her kind honesty and her magical way of bringing her unique self to what she loves. She gives so much in her lessons and directing and it is clear that she loves doing what she does. She is gifted with an ability to gently bring out the hidden tender insides of people with humor and fun and love and music.
So, if you are wondering if she is worth the price of a lesson, I’d have to say, no. She is worth much more than that, but a lesson is a good place to start.”

“My daughter has been taking voice lessons from Nicole for years now. Our experience has been only positive one in so many ways. From a professional standpoint, Nicole is friendly and energetic towards her students, responsive and organized with parents in addition to being flexible with schedules and the needs to each family. Nicole’s experience and expertise in vocal training is also apparent through the notable progress we have seen over the course of our daughter’s lessons. It is important to note that not only has our daughter’s signing quality improved, but her confidence as a whole has also been elevated. Thank you Nicole for all of you bring to your lessons! There is so much more happening than just signing J - Thank you Allison W. (Parent)”

The reviews for Nicole do not do her justice. She is extremely talented and has a charming personality. Her teaching methods adjust to the singer's level. She brings out the most out of my daughters shy personality. I am very glad we chose her for singing lesson.

Nicole is extremely gifted in music all aspects of music, reading, writing, recording and teaching.
She has been involved in music all her life. She started at St. Edwards Catholic church singing in the choir at the age of 9. After that she joined Angelica Youth Choir, at this time started piano and voice lessons. She received several awards in voice. She added guitar to her lessons as well. In her senior year at Thomas Jefferson High school she was selected after her audition to the Show Choir “Connection”. Her participation leads “Connection” to win in their competitions. She stared in Thomas Jefferson’s Musical “Anything Goes”. After High School Nicole went to a music school “Music Tech” in Minneapolis. She developed many long lasting relations which continue to this day. Her performances moved to different types of Bands original and cover bands. She has recorded CD’s with their Bands Mad Love and Wookie foot. She composed two cover songs for Mad Love. Nicole went back to Angelica participating in the Alumni Choir.
Music is a part of Nicole it is her expression, compassion it encompasses her spiritual understanding, creates her courage and develops her knowledge. It is her language it is her compass as it guilds her through her life. She embraces all of it and shares all that it is to her. It is an honor to her to teach what she has learned and been given. She does not see Music as a single expression by as one that needs to be of many.
