Saxophone lessons with an experienced musician and teacher

I am an experienced teacher of 4 years, specializing in teaching upper beginner's to first-year college students. I am a performing musician who has been playing the saxophone for over ten years now. I believe each lesson should be tailored to the students wants, and to their current ability level. I will be able to teach students the songs they want to learn, while also teaching them the fundamentals needed to perform music. As a musician who has gone to college for music I also know what is needed for auditions, and what should be prepared for a lifetime of playing music. I am well versed in many different styles of music including: jazz, pop/rock, classical music, and others. I have a passion for improvising and composing, and as a hobby I compose music and I have a home studio where I practice recording and producing music.

    About Nick Z.

I am a professional Saxophonist and Guitarist with a Bachelors degree in Commercial Music with an emphasis in performance. Being a saxophone player I also have experience doubling on Flute and Clarinet. I have played numerous events ranging from corporate events, to weddings, to playing original music with a band. I have a love for jazz, folk, and rock music. I believe every student can be taught to improvise while also developing the fundamentals needed to play music. I believe in tailoring each lesson to what the student wants, alongside with their current ability. I also believe in teaching some of the fundamentals needed to play music at a high level such as music theory, correct technique, and building up a knowledge of song repertoire. Students can expect to learn the songs they want to learn, while also learning the deeper aspects of the song such as the music theory and musical techniques involved in the song. Students will also learn standard songs in the genre they want that they may not know about, thus deepening and enriching their knowledge of music. As a professional performing artist I have knowledge of what is needed to perform music, and some skills that need to be developed in order to do so. I can teach students this in a fun, and relaxing manner. As a hobby I have built up a home studio where I record, mix, and master my own original music, and if students ever have any questions about this sort of thing I am more than happy to share my knowledge of this subject.
