I am a thoroughly patient and unpretentious music teacher. I have a lighthearted approach to lessons; music does not need to be a stressful thing. A true love for music is cultivated by a positive relationship with your instrument and the music that you are passionate about, and it is this belief that guides me as a teacher.
This doesn't mean that we won't work hard or learn a lot. Music and repetition are inescapably intertwined, and in order to become skilled musicians we must embrace the repetitive nature of practice.
Music is many different things for many different people: for some, it is reading music off a page. For others, it is strumming chords, reading tabs, improvising, or writing songs. My approach to curriculum with each student is different, as I find no two students ever have the same interests, goals, and learning style.
Here are some frequently requested subjects:
Singing and playing at the same time
Electric guitar rhythm & lead styles
Music composition and songwriting
Reading music, tabs, and/or chord charts
