His roots lie in Rock & Roll, but he has become well versed in Jazz, Funk, and Soul as a result of his time spent getting a music degree at UC Riverside. This degree also lets you know that he knows his music theory. The countless shows that he has performed in add to his ability to teach this performing art. *** Lesson Details *** The things everyone will learn are the basics to music theory. From there, the curriculum depends on your genre(s) of choice. Jazz students will delve deeper into jazz theory, songs, walking bass lines, and soloing and also have the choice of using a stand-up bass or electric (all other genres are on electric bass). Rock students will learn rock songs, how to come up with rock bass lines, and learn what it takes to be a rock performer. Funk and soul students will learn songs from these genres and learn how to fully utilize the bass in that setting. *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide an amp. Student should have their own instrument. Their own amp would be a plus. *** Specialties *** Jazz, funk, rock, soul. Slap for bass guitar.
