- Teaching since:
I am a professional singer and speech language pathologist. I have spent many years studying the physiology and anatomy of the voice. I have a Bachelor of Music from Wichita State University and a Master of Science from Rockhurst University.
I have been performing for more than 10 years in various genres, including opera, musical theater, jazz, gospel and popular styles. I have extensive experience with music theory and character analysis. I studied classical vocal performance for 15+ years and am still learning more, as the voice is ever changing. Students that study with me will not only receive instruction for healthy singing and performance but also personalized technique. I strongly believe that every voice is unique and that 'one size fits all' vocal training is not effective.
I have taught private voice and piano lessons, as well as theater classes for many years. I have experience teaching ages 3-75, in all levels. I also have extensive experience working with students with special needs, modifying curriculum and utilizing various teaching styles to accommodate specific needs.
