Naomi Maxwell began teaching private music lessons in 2010. She has a passion for music education and enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities. She has taught students ranging from age five to adult, and is a member of the Music Teacher's National Association, Washington State Music Teacher's Association (WSMTA), National Association for Music Education, Piano Teacher’s Federation, and the American Harp Society. She serves as treasurer for the Tacoma Chapter of the WSMTA. In addition to her experience teaching music, Ms. Maxwell has worked as an educator in Seoul, South Korea, where she taught English as a foreign language to elementary students.
Ms. Maxwell is a summa cum laude graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, where she completed her Bachelor of Musical Arts degree. As a pianist and harpist, Ms. Maxwell has participated in multiple solo and ensemble performances with the PLU Symphony Orchestra, Piano Ensemble, Harp Ensemble, Jazz Combos, and the opening ceremony of the 2016 Asia Harp Festival in Seoul, South Korea. She is an active freelance harpist, performing frequently throughout the Pacific Northwest region.
