About Nairobi S.
My goal is to make you shine. All lessons are individually designed specifally for you. Also, I know HOW to teach effectively. Establishing trust and communication is key. All lessons are customized to your musical tastes and particular style of learning. There are many talented professional musicians who aren't good teachers. It took my first year on the job to master the methods of being an effective teacher (and I'm still learning!) Besides musical skill, it takes patience and empathy (enjoying your work helps too!)
What I like most about teaching is...spreading music, playing music - listening and helping others play...Everyday is fun, it's totally inspiring. I think my favorite thing is when students proudly play music that they've composed. Even my bad days are good!

It was the best! I didn't know what to expect because I've never played before. Nairobi was patient, professional and thorough. He was reassuring and his instructions were easy to follow. No longer nervous, I feel like I've achieved a major goal in learning to play. 5 STARS!

Vast experience and knowledge.
Patient approach to teaching.

Nairobi has been a great instructor. He does not use the "one size fits all approach", but rather will customize the instruction to what you want. Accordingly, students will remain interested and get more out of it when the curriculum is of interest to them. I wanted to learn how to play the guitar, but wasn't interested in learning to read music. Nairobi also let's you choose what type and what specific songs you'd like to learn. Learning to play your favorite rock, pop or blues song versus Mary Had a Little Lamb- guess which one keeps you more motivated and interested in learning how to play? Also, being able to have the lesson in the privacy of your own home is great. He makes learning to play the guitar fun. If you put the work in you'll be playing in no time.

Nairobi was very helpful with his instructions, and used analogies and examples to help me better understand the lesson. Really walked me through. By the time I was assigned the homework, I already had a clear idea of how to practice.

I was a beginner but after just 6 months with Nairobi I’m playing some faves and can’t wait for more. He has been very patient, understanding and motivating. Thanks Nairobi, for helping me connect to my musical side.
