I have been professionally studying music for the past 11 years. I started performing with the American Boychoir in 2003. During my time there we sang for Paul McCartney, Jesse Norman, and even such icons as Beyonce. I then went on to study classical voice, primarily opera, at Walnut Hill School for the arts. I studied for 4 years there and learned so much about my own voice and how to teach others in masterclass settings and small lessons. I then obtained a degree in Vocal Performance major from Millikin University. I'm currently obtaining a M.M of Opera Performance at WIchita State University, and am loving every second of it. I now feel it is the right time to explore the teaching field. I've taken many seminar courses about the voice and how it progresses and am in the process of taking even more to expand my knowledge base! I'm very open to new styles of singing, however my focus is classical training. I believe that with a good classical base you can explore many different types of singing, such as Jazz, and Musical Theater to name just a few. I'm very excited to be doing this and I can't wait to help you learn about your voice!
*** Lesson Details ***
Every lesson will be different because each student is different! I urge you to come explore your voice with me and learn what works best for you! I prefer to give hour voice lessons, because that gives me more time to work with you, however I will be just as happy to work in 30, or 45 minute slots as well!
*** Specialties ***
Opera! I love opera. It's one of my favorite art forms and I am in a constant state of wonder when I watch it and perform it. My main specialty is just that classical base that every singer needs!
I have a current vocal studio in Wichita, Kansas!
I am a current section leader and soloist at Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
I worked with old documents, photos, and collections, and archived them for future use. They were usually through independent contractors, and most were government related.
I was a section leader, and cantor for a church choir in Decatur, Illinois for several years.
