Vocal Training with Mitchell K.

Hi there! My name is Mitchell. I've been singing formally for over 10 years now, studying all sorts of genres like classical, musical theatre, pop, rock, and hardcore. I studied Vocal Performance at The Boston Conservatory and shortly after, I started an alternative/indie band in the Chicago area while studying Composition at North Central College. We've toured all across the midwest and played multiple sold out shows. I've written and recorded two EPs as well as one full-length album. I've also gotten to perform in some of my dream theatrical roles such as Gabe from Next to Normal and William Barfee in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. My favorite genres to teach are pop, indie rock, alternative, punk, and musical theatre, but I'm also always glad to work on classical. It's most important to me that I work with my students on music that inspires them. I'm a certified in the Somatic Voicework™ method. I understand first and foremost how personal and vulnerable singing can be which is why I really strive to create a positive and open minded learning environment. Learning the ability to let myself make mistakes/be open minded with something like singing has fostered a much more positive outlook on my life outside music; I'm excited to share this with the world.
