Guitar with Mike C.

Mike C. began his journey of music on Clarinet at the age of eleven, and began study on the Violin the following year. Participant in the Virginia All-State Bands and Orchestras every year of high school, Mike has studied Violin with Sandy Hunt, Dora Mullins, Leslie Stewart, and Lucy Manning, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. He has a varied experience as an educator, and his teaching positions include: three years in a homeschool enrichment program in Virginia Beach, VA instructing students in Band, Strings, Guitar, Music Theory, and Music History; four years as a middle school strings director in the Williamsburg, VA public schools teaching both Orchestra and Guitar classes; and thirteen years of experience teaching private music lessons in Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Guitar, and Clarinet. He currently directs and administrates the music program at the faith-based Furnace Academy of the Arts in Fredericksburg.
