Mike is the most amazing trumpet teacher out there! I took lessons with him for 8 years, and he always encouraged me to keep playing! I played throughout college and am now looking for a community band, and I am so grateful to have had such an amazing teacher to encourage me to keep playing post high school. He is great for all levels, and teaches a wide range of musical styles for whatever you'd want to learn! I cannot recommend Mike enough. If you're looking for lessons, he is certainly the best out there!

Mike is a very experienced and generous teacher. He has professional performing experience in all kinds of ensembles and styles from quintets to orchestras and from classical to jazz. He is an outstanding jazz musician and a good arranger and adapts pieces to make them playable for students of all ages and levels of ability. And Mike understands and values students of ALL abilities, including those with special needs. He taught music to students with disabilities in a New York school providing all kids a meaninful and challenging musical experience. I've done many gigs with Mike for many years and I have also been a student of his, although he would never say I was. We practice together weekly, regardless of where we are living, and I learn something every time we meet that helps me be a better player. Mike will make you a better player too!

It takes a special kind of teacher to teach a beginning older adult trumpet. Was I fortunate to find Mike! I learned much more than how to play. Mike never missed an opportunity to share music that he thought I would like, a story or two about one of his favorite trumpet players, or a podcast on trumpet players. And lessons were always fun.
