Hello! My name is Melanie and I am very excited to start teaching you to play saxophone. You've chosen to play on of the most popular instruments, why? Because saxophone ROCKS! I specialize in beginner and intermediate saxophone basics as well as jazz fundamentals. I am a funk Saxophonist primarily but you can find me out at some jazz jam sessions as well. I am the lead Alto saxophonist for "Joe Keyes and The Late Bloomer Band". I have been on recording projects with musicians like Wes Anderson and his single One of One, and I am currently recording an album with my band which will be releasing in May. I have also played alongside the legendary Joe Bowie of Defunkt, Angelo of Fish Bone. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in jazz studies at Howard University and am eager to share my knowledge with you. I am a firm believer that each student is different and has a different approach to learning a new instrument or genre of music. So let's work together, I am here to encourage you to acheive your personal music goals whatever they may be!
