Dance with Megan M.

Hello there friends! My name is Megan Margaret Moore and I am a Seattle based dancer, choreographer, teacher, and performing artist. Dance has always been a part of my life, I began classes when I was 3 and haven't stopped since. I'm Ballet trained in the Ceccetti Method completing up to Major 9. In my youth I perform roles such as Clara and Snow Princess in the Nutcracker before switching my focus to contemporary styles of dance in High School. Through Academy of the Performing Arts at Huntington Beach High School I had the opportunity to perform throughout Southern California, as well as the YAGP finals in New York City and The New Prague Dance Festival in Czech Republic, as well as dive into my passion for choreography. In 2015 I began attending Cornish College of the Art's Dance program and graduated with honors and my BFA in 2019. Throughout my time at Cornish I created upwards of 10 original works, and continue to focus in choreography as my main form of creative expression. Since graduating I have performed with Cornish at The Moore Theater, an original piece at Columbia City Theater, and choreographed for the modern opera, "The Photographer," at Whidbey Island Center of the Arts. Along with performing I've been teaching for the last 5 years, and find great joy in passing on knowledge, and shining a light on the creative minds of my students. Lessons with me don't just cover dance, for we will discuss the embodiment of all that's necessary in participating in this art form. We will cover dance history, anatomy, storytelling, and diving into who and how are. Together we will make works of art.
