    About Matthew F.

I've had an unexpected journey to becoming a professional musician. In middle school, I was consistently last chair in my band and felt negatively about my playing. However, as time went on, and with the help of some excellent teachers, I realized that anyone can be a great musician with hard work and grit. After a couple of years of working diligently, I was able to make up my lost ground and fell in love with music. I just graduated from with my Bachelor's degrees in music performance and music education from Oklahoma State University with highest honors. While I was at OSU, I enjoyed a wealth of wonderful experiences such as recording 3 commercial albums with school ensembles, being appointed drum major of the Cowboy Marching Band, winning numerous scholarships/awards, and participating in countless masterclasses and recitals. I am a lover of learning and music and I strive to share the wonder I've found in these things with as many people as I can!
