A Step-By-Step Process to Help You Grow In Your Knowledge and Understanding of Music Theory

Hello! As a Professor of Music Theory and Ear Training, I have been teaching and coaching musicians of all levels in Ear Training for 6 years. I have an undergraduate degree in music education, specializing in classical music, and a master's degree in performance, specializing in jazz and popular music. Each student/musician has their own voice, their own unique way of creating the music they love. It is my goal to help each student find their voice, develop their skills, and help them continue on the lifelong journey of creating, learning, and experiencing music.

Hi! My name is Matt. I believe that everyone can learn and want to provide an open-minded, creative environment where musicians at any level can explore and discover something new about themselves through their personal music journey. I live in Nashville, TN and am an Adjunct Professor of Music at Belmont University here in Nashville, where I teach Music Theory and Ear Training Courses. I also run my own business, Do Rhea Mi Music Coaching. I'm a woodwind player but also work with and teach other instrumental musicians and vocalists, working on various elements such as musicianship, style, performance anxiety, audition prep, music theory concepts, and ear training techniques. Just to name a few things. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Belmont University in 2011 and received my Master's Degree from the Leeds Conservatoire in Saxophone Performance in 2014. My experience ranges in playing for musical theater pit orchestras, big bands, concert bands, wind ensembles, and small jazz ensembles, as well as teaching music theory and ear training.
