I perform and arrange music for wedding ceremonies. I have also played keyboard in worship bands for over a decade. I was the lead pianist for several musical theater productions (Seussical, Hairspray, Fame, etc.), and I have experience teaching piano to adults. My teaching passion is for helping adult learners quickly start to enjoy their musicality and abilities on piano - it's never too late to start! Although my degree is a Master's in Chemical Engineering, my passion has always been for music, and I am now a full-time musician. I have studied classical piano for 20+ years - my favorite composer is Chopin! I can teach students to tackle very challenging pieces with excellent technique and expression. I encourage all my students to get some exposure to classical, even if that is not their main genre because it serves as a fantastic foundation for all musical study. I also have a passion for teaching students how to learn contemporary music by ear. This is a fun and efficient way to learn music theory! I have used this skill in writing arrangements for all types of music from indie folk to worship to alt rock. I am excited to help my students enjoy their own musicality.
